It is the season where almost everything becomes a challenge, and sets the trend, for a cause. And when director AR Murugadoss challenged Neil Nitin Mukesh to dub in Tamil for himself, the actor took the challenge and has been at it for the past 72 hours, for 'Kaththi'. The upcoming Ilayathalapathy-Samantha starrer has Bollywood actor Neil Nitin Mukesh playing a crucial role, making his debut in K-town. And he has now revealed that his role is that of a Tamil-speaking North Indian. And so, Murugadoss found his own voice and intonation perfect for the voice-over. At first, Neil looked at it as a challenge, and in three days, the actor has completed half the movie's dubbing.
When he interacted with the media, being here in Chennai for the dubbing and a brief shooting schedule, Neil spoke about the hurdles he had to cross. "Dubbing in a language you are fluent in, is already difficult, given that you must get the intonation and stress correct at the right point. But when it is a language that you are completely new to, it certainly is a very big task at hand. I have been practicing the language and giving my best of Tamil for 'Kaththi's' dubbing. However, there is one phrase that traps me - 'Irukka Koodadhu'. This one has been really difficult of all that I have uttered!" says Neil.
