When a film succeeds at the box office, its album also returns to the forefront. 7-G Rainbow Colony's dream run has helped the Tamil track reach the top the charts once again.

1. 7-G Rainbow Colony (Music: Yuvan Shankar Raja): The music of 7G Rainbow Colony is dominated by melody, a rarity today. The way it has mesmerised even the young crowd, dispelling the belief that this section of the audience prefers only fast numbers, is amazing.

2. Chellamey (Music: Harris Jayaraj): Chellamay, the film, has just completed 50 days in the theatres. Its music is also being heard quite frequently of late. Harris Jayaraj has composed some interesting songs for the film, though they are nowhere near as catchy as Kaakka Kaakka's peppy numbers.

3. Madhurey (Music: Vidyasagar): The film Madhurey is not a big hit, and neither is the album. But the title song Machan Peru Madhurey, sung by Shankar Mahadevan, has become a favourite of many.

4. Bose (Yuvan Shankar Raja): Another album by Yuvan Shankar Raja is drawing lovers of good music in droves. The success of the film may have something to do with the late triumph of the album.

5. Chathurangam (Music: Vidyasagar): The music of Chathurangam is definitely not of the same genre as Vidyasagar's recent fast-paced songs. But Chathurangam's strength lies is its melody, particularly evident in a folk number by Manicka Vinayagam.
