'Manjapai' to be screened in BRICS

The Russian Centre for Science and Culture in association with Indo Cine Appreciation Foundation has organized the BRICS Film Festival. The Festival will be held in The Russian Centre for Science and Culture in Alwarpet Chennai.

The Films from the BRICS Nations, Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa will be screened in the festival. The only Tamil film that has qualified to be screened in this multi- national film festival is the Vemal-Lakshmi Menon starrer Manjapai`.

Directed by debutante N.Raghavan, the film proved to be an emotional entertainer with veteran actor Rakiran playing the central character of an innocent and caring Grand Father. The film was one of the commercially successful ventures of Director N.Lingsamy`s Thirrupathi Brothers and it is going to be remade in Hindi, Telugu and Kannada.
