These are tough times for Vijayakanth.

After the flop of Gajendra, he has had to endure some rough patch in personal and political life too.

But the swarthy actor has put behind his contretemps and is looking to concentrate on his film at least for the now. A hit, he feels, will go a long way in shutting his detractors down.

Vijayakanth is currently playing the lead in GJ Cinema's Niranja Manasu. The movie is due for release this Deepavali. Following Neranja Manasu, he has decided to act in his home production.

Impressed with Malayalam star Mohanlal's recent release Balettan, Vijayakanth has procured the remake rights for the same and this would be churned out by his own production company.

His last production venture was Engal Anna, again a remake of hit Malayalam venture Chronic Bachelor.

So when in doubt, go Malayalam, seems to be his credo.
