One look at the first trailer of ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’ you will feel like you are watching a mix of popular Bollywood’s masala movies. And why not, when the film is by one of the most commercial entertainment house, Dharma Productions.

Being directed by debutant Shashank Khaitan, ‘HSKD’ is everything one sees in a typical glossy romantic-comedy drama. Yeah, the tagline hints - A Filmi Love Story... A desi handsome hero - Humpty Sharma aka Varun Dhawan. And bubbly, loud, colourful and hot heroine - here Alia Bhatt as Kavya Prasad Singh who is a crazy fan of Kareena Kapoor. Enter ‘Vedesi’ Villain cum Hero played by Siddharth Shukla, the TV star who is making his first entry in Bollywood. ‘Jannat’ beauty Sonal Chauhan too has a place in the cast.

Set against the backdrop of Chandigarh, the film has the essence of movies like ‘Jab We Met’ and ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ thrown in. Well, the poster itself says it all - with Alia and Varun showing the funnier take of DDLJ, where the actress lifts up her co-star.

‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’ is slated to release on 11th July 2014.
