He looks stocky and short-built.

But his abilities are tall.

Well, cinematographer K V Anand is the most sought-after technician in Kollywood these days. He has won the appreciation of all for his good work in Chellame.

A one-time assistant of P C Sreeram, Anand has a national award under his belt and has done a few Hindi films, too. So there is little for him to prove now.

But what next?

Well, Anand is following his guru Sreeram's footsteps and going to try his hand (or is tt eye?) in direction. Anand's directorial venture is all set to begin soon with actor Srikanth playing the lead.

Cameraman turning directors is nothing new. We have the examples of Sreeram himself and also the likes of Rajeev Menon, Jeeva, Santhos Sivan and Thangar Bachchan.

All these photographers have had a modicum of success as directors.

Can Anand follow suit?
