It is old news that former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK chief M Karunanidhi is penning the dialogues and screenplay for a movie titled Kannamma.

The movie's muhurat was held recently in Chennai. Actress Abitha, who made her debut in Sethu was supposed the play the lead role in the movie. However, it is now said the role has gone to actress Meena.

Asked on this, Meena says, 'I am happy to do a movie being written by Karunanidhi. I would do justice to my role and it is indeed a great pleasure for me to be acting in such a prestigious film'.

Meena who has not many offers in Tamil after Shock is raring to go.
