Two films targeting the youth top the Telugu film charts this fortnight. Two other films, where stars attempt an image makeover, come to grief.

1. "Sye": After "Simhadri", young filmmaker Rajamouli comes up with an interesting youth-centred film revolving around American rugby. Besides the game, it also has a few foot-tapping numbers.

The love story of Nitin and Genelia takes a backseat compared to the preparations for the big match. The tale of college students who invite a dreaded don for a rugby match is stylishly presented and it has all the makings of a winner.

2. "Arjun": Teen sensation Mahesh's saga holds its ground. The collections picked up after the anti-piracy drive. The elegant action sequences are a treat to watch.

The big cost of production, however, is the film's bane. The poor performance of "Gudumba" has helped it to some extent. Mani Sharma's tunes are drawing some audience.

3. "Gudumba Sankar": Pavan Kalyan's much hyped film, in which he was expected to change his muscle-bound image, is flopping. It is yet another huge disappointment for his fans, misled by the title.

The film has turned out to be just a routine comedy without any novelty. Even Mani Sharma's tunes fail to bring in repeat audiences.

4. "Cheppave Chirugali": Venu's self-pitying role is totally in contrast with his established image. His sacrificing act is overdone while the comedy track fails to tickle. After a hat-trick of hits, this film must be a disappoint for SP Entertainments in a big way.

5. "1 4 3": The film is doing well in some centres due to good publicity. Director Puri is probably disappointed as it has not launched his brother Sai in a big way.

Chakri's fast-paced numbers have helped sustain the film. It may have done better had the director paid more attention to the love interest than to the Maoist extremist angle.
