Before the completion of his magnum opus Viswaroopam 2, the film's lead actor cum director Kamal Haasan moved to his next project Uttama Villain directed by Ramesh Aravind. This lead to doubts about the fate of the sequel of 2013 blockbuster film Viswaroopam, it was said that it will be released after the release of Uttama Villain.

However sources close to Aascar.V.Ravichandran, the producer of V-2, confirm that their film will be the next release of Kamal Haasan. Kamal who is shooting for Uttama Villain is simultaneously taking part in the postproduction work of the Viswaroopam 2.

As revealed by the sources, Ravichandran who has another biggie like Shankar directed Vikram starrer Ai in hand is planning to release both the films within July. He will release either of the film in June and the other in July. The release month is subject to completion of the post production work. However there will be one month gap between the release of Viswaroopam 2 and Ai since both are mega budget projects.

Sources also rubbished as rumors, the claims stating that there is a misunderstanding between Kamal and Aascar Ravichandran and that’s why the former has moved to his next project. They aver that Ravichandran is planning to fund another project with Kamal Haasan in the lead role.
