Mohanlal's fans must be thrilled that his three films are on the way.

One of these is "Udayanaanu Tharam", directed by newcomer Roshan Andrews and written by Sreenivasan, for which he will start shooting in the second week of September.

The other two are Shajun Karyal's "Vadakkunnathan" and Joshi's "Mambazhakkalam". The shooting for both these movies has begun.

In "Vadakkunnathan", Mohanlal plays a Sanskrit scholar named Bharat Pisharody.

Some scenes of the film have already been shot in Haridwar and the Himalayan ranges. Songwriter Gireesh Puthenchery has scripted this film and Meera Jasmine is the heroine.

"Mambazhakalam" seems the most interesting of the lot. It is written by T.A. Shahid, who has proven lucky for the actor with two superhits already behind them in "Balletten" and "Natturajavu".

And Mohanlal is paired with actress Shobhana after nearly four years. This pair had ruled the box-office from the mid-80s to the early 90s with films like "Nadodikkattu", "Vellanakalude Nadu", "Ulladakkam", "Manichitratazhu" and "Thenmavin Kombathu".
