Samantha tweeted on Monday about a Telugu film's poster being highly regressive and which instantaneously raised furor among the Superstar Mahesh Babu's fans who announced a virtual boycott on not just the actress but also her beau and actor Siddharth too. While Samantha didn't specify the film’s title, on the other hand she hasn't denied it either publicly which caused the rage on high.

Samantha’s tweet said ‘Saw a poster of a yet to be released Telugu film. Not only is it deeply regressive, but it's point is actually that it is deeply regressive’ Mahesh Babu’s ‘1-Nenokkadine’ poster has the heroine crawling behind the hero and he looking at her dismissingly.

The content of the poster makes one believe that Samantha’s tweet could as well be an instant reaction on the poster. And believing the same, fans of Mahesh Babu reacted wildly, launched a scathing attack on the actress and Siddharth with a handle #GetLostSamanthaAndSiddharth and posting hate messages on the Twitter page.

The actor Sidhdharth who got sandwiched in the whole episode has, however tweeted against the campaign saying ‘It’s a powerful tool Twitter, but only if it is not destroyed by ugly, hateful, false gangster confidence. Too much of that going around’ and tried to defend the actress saying ‘Agree or disagree all you want. The moment you question anyone’s right to an opinion, well that just makes you a bully, a terrorist even’.

While there are fans hating her, there are some more individuals who are praising her for being gutsy. Not surprisingly, another hashtag titled #WeLoveSamantha took off and has beaten the hate Samantha in the most trending topic in India on the Twitter. Questions will be asked to Samantha on which poster she meant to be regressive and why so and she would do better by preparing herself to answer them and soon too.
