The trailer of Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar's upcoming film 'Badhaai Do' was released on Tuesday and it has made it clear what to expect from the film. Just like its spiritual prequel 'Badhaai Ho', this film is also a comedy about a sensitive social topic. 'Badhaai Do' deals with the idea of lavender marriage in which a man and a woman with homosexual orientations get married in order to hide their sexualities.
In this film, Rajkummar Rao plays a strong yet charming cop while Bhumi Pednekar plays a PT teacher who is secretly dating a girl. The plot revolves around how Rajkummar convinces Bhumi to marry him and then how they keep their charade going on.
Talking about his character, Rajkummar Rao told Mumbai Mirror, "I have played a cop before but never with this perspective. I look for layered characters and this one is a perfect match. My character is surrounded by strong women at home and at work and that adds immense depth to his personality."
Bhumi Pednekar, on the other hand, said, "My character again is strong, independent and author-backed, and it gives me a lot of scope to bring a very different and cool character to life. This time, too, the film will say something extremely relevant and relatable, but in a hilarious manner. I’m also excited to share screen space with Raj for the first time."
