Actor Ashok is famous for his debut project 'Muruga' that had Vadivelu as the comedian and the scenes are still played on the television channels regularly. He is also a cricketer playing for the Celebrity Premier League.

Ashok has turned director for a short film 'Manitham' which has been released by his prominent Kollywood colleagues Arya, Arun Vijay, Venkat Prabu, Prasanna, Premji Amaran and others. Actor Vivek has gone one step ahead in lauding his effort stating that it makes heads turn towards his for the subject of the plight of homeless people in the coronavirus pandemic.
