In a heart-wrenching incident, a Malayalee family watched actor Puneeth Rajkumar's new movie 'Yuvarathnaa' along with a huge life-size picture of their deceased son Harikrishnan. The teenage boy was a huge fan of Puneeth and in order to fulfill their late son's wish, the couple decided to make a life-size photo of him and watch the movie along with it.
Harikrishnan's father Muraleedharan, his mother Leela, and elder brother Harshit who are Karnataka residents arrived at the cinema and got four tickets/ They watched the movie with the picture of Harikrishnan placed in one seat. “He wanted to see the movie and had expressed the desire of seeing it on the first show of the first day. We decided to take his photo to the movie hall and we purchased the ticket to watch the movie with his portrait by our side,” said his father Muralidharan.
With tears rolling down their eyes, the couple watched the movie as if their son himself was enjoying every moment of the movie. The act also brought tears in the eyes of people seated near the boy’s photo.
After the superstar got to know about this incident, he took to his social media handle to express grief over the death of his hardcore fan. “I am feeling emotional and have a heavy heart. May his soul rest in peace,” Puneeth tweeted.
Harikrishnan, the youngest son of Muraleedharan, a resident of Kuvempunagar in the city, drowned on December 13, 2020, in the Varuna canal. The accident happened while he was swimming with friends. Harikrishnan, a big fan of Puneeth, was waiting for the release of 'Yuvarathna'. Harikrishnan had, in fact, downloaded the songs and listened to them daily for months even before the release of the film.
