The debut movie from Raj Prabhavathy Menon,'Buddy' which has ignited controversy over not carrying 'A' certificate on its posters has now been trimmed by a twenty minutes. The director explains that since the sensor board has acted crudely on the film with a lot of cuts and beeps, not even allowing colloquial words like patti, koppu or padaram on it, he was forced to go for a revision.
dMore over the criticisms over a slow first half and some jerky scenes there also forced him to make the movie more crisp and faster. Raaj maintains that his film was subjected to many unnecessary cuts, and the 'A' certificate imposed for the theme of artificial insemination, and sequence of a father and son drinking together.
This has affected the collections, as well.Raaj points out that his film was targeted as many others with similar themes and sequences has escaped scathfree with out any Adult certification. Buddy' with Anoop Menon, Bhumika Cawla, Sreekanth, Asha Sharath, Midhun Murali and Balachandra Menon is having average collections at the Box Office, now.
