Young actor Prithviraj is known for discussing his unadulterated thoughts in public, for which he has heard a lot of criticisms. But he remains the same and continues to pose questions that often threaten the existing equations of the industry. Bollywood recently had a taste of this Prithviraj as he was promoting his upcoming action thriller Aurangzeb.
Prithviraj who is just into his second Hindi film in Aurangazeb daringly questioned the concept of 100 crore Club in Bollywood. Stating that he only believes in maximum number of people coming and watching a film, Prithvi added that 100 Crore Club cannot be sold on a success parameter.
"If a film is made on the budget of 130 Crore and earns 100 Crore, can you consider it as a Successful film? What is the definition of a successful film? A film that has been made on the budget of 75 Crores and made 100 Crores, Or a film that got made on the budget of hardly 5 Crores and goes on to earn 60 Crores? So it is all a question of perspective." Commented Prithviraj.
The actor who also shared his personal experience of film making down south as a Producer of movies like Urumi and Indian Rupee also insisted that one should also talk about small films which becomes a Blockbuster and goes into the 100 Crore club category.
" Why do we talk about the film which made in 90 Crore and earned 100 Crore? Why can't we talk about films which are made on the budget of 3.5 Crore and earns 100 Crore? These questions raised by Prithvi is sure to kick start heavy discussions in Bollywood in the coming days.
