Following the protest and strikes demanding a new dam in the place of the existing 116 year old dam at Mullaiperiyar, the stars of Mollywood has started actively involving in the proceedings. Last day they organised a 'prayer' for a peaceful resolution of the issue. Suresh Gopi, Dileep, Mukesh, Siddique, Innocent, directors Kamal, Unnikrishnan and Ashik Abu together with the MP Haibi Eden were among the luminaries, who assembled at High Court Junction on Monday evening.

Sureshgopi who has already been showing an active interest in the protests also reminded that the solution lies in peaceful talks rather than violent protests which will only invite further trouble. Taking the regular note off from his habitual violent screen characters, the actor said that effecting a change in the mindset of Jayalalitha by highlighting the potential danger is the only way out. He also hoped the courts to take an honest decision in accordance with the reality. Actor Dileep also reminded that they are in the efforts to meet Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalitha over the issue.
