After a long time, Malayalam cinema is once again back to harsh realities of people around the state. When popular filmmakers are desisting from making political movies, National award winning director Jayaraj is getting ready with a true political movie with a controversial stand, that is being shot at Payyanur.

The latest movie from Jayaraj titled 'Pakarnnattam' will feature the endosulphan issue as one of its lead themes. The movie will tell about the issue through the life of its protagonist Thomas, who is a political activist, played by Jayaram.

This 34th movie from Jayaraj will have his wife Sabitha Jayaraj as the heroine. Based on a story by advocate C P Udhayabhanu, the movie will also deal with issues relating to rehabilitation of endosulphan victims.
