Senior actor Jagadheesh will now start hosting 'Nammal Thammil', the popular talk show which has successfully completed 757 episodes on Asianet. The channel was in urgent need to go for a new face as its host as Sreekantan Nair, who had been with Asianet for the last 12 years with this show, has opted out of the channel to join Malayala Manorama's new General Entertainment Channel.

’Nammal Thammil' had been famous for its selection of very engrossing themes and heated debates and discussions on very issues affecting Kerala society. Sreekantan Nair's characteristic signoff with a 'Goodbye’ had been immensely popular with the Kerala households.

Meanwhile, Jagadheesh has already made it clear that he will be hosting the programme in his own style, not trying to imitate the veteran presenter. Anyhow, the Kerala households will be eager to witness the switchover of hosts, which will happen on the 11th of September with a fresh episode of 'Nammal Thammil'.
