You knew Siddique directed Tamil remake of Malayalam film ‘Bodyguard’ was progressing with the tile ‘Kaavalkaran’ which was taken from a super hit MGR film of the 60s. Tamil ‘Bodyguard’ stars Vijay and Asin in the roles played by Dileep and Nayantara respectively. But now Siddique is forced to change the Tamil title to ‘Kaaval Kadhal’.

The change was ordered by the film producers’ council after receiving a complaint from Sathya Movies which had produced the classic original. 'Kaavalkaran' was an ever green super hit film of MGR produced by Sathya Movies founded by R M Veerappan. That was the very first production venture of the illustrious production house.

According to production council rules if anybody wants to re-use an old film's title the act has to be officially approved by the producer of the original film. The change of title was not known to many until Asin spoke to the media from Srilanka.
