Superstar Mohanlal was then into his first business venture when he floated a firm named Pranavam arts in 1990. In the initial days he found great success in movie making with his trio of 'His Highness Abdullah', 'Bharatham', 'Kamaladalam', with director Sibi Malayil, all becoming commercial winners. But thereafter the movies from his banner couldn't sustain the box Office heat and made big lose for its hero-producer. And after 'Vanaprastham' which earned big international accolades Mohanlal shelved his firm for some time. Now after 11 years, the super star is planning to revive his home banner.

Mohanlal who had been associating with his Man Friday, Antony Perumbavoor for his recent productions in the banner Aashirwaad movies, will produce his new movie ‘Kandahaar’ in the banner of Pranavam Arts. The movie which is based on Kandahar hijack will be directed by Major Ravi and features Amitabh Bachchan in its cast list.
