Mohan Lal, Jagathy stays away from Award ceremony

The Kerala State film Awards for the year 2007 was distributed yesterday in a ceremony marked by poor organizational skills. The award ceremony which was expected to start by 6 P M, could only materialize by around 9 late night as the chief minister and cultural minister arrived three hours late to the function. Jury chairman Janu Baruah presented the report on the awards.

Super star Mohan Lal, Jagathy Sreekumar, Murali, Sreenivasan, Lakshmi Gopalaswamy and P T Kunju Mohammed who were in the recipient list of this year awards, failed to come up to receive the honors.

M.G. Sasi, director of the best film, Adayalangal, Shyama Prasad, director of the second best film, ‘Ore Kadal’, Meera Jasmine, for the best actress, music director M. Jayachandran, playback singers Vijay Jesudas and Swetha, Babu Thiruvalla (best debutant director Thaniye), Satyan Anthikkad (best scenarist Vinoda Yathra) and Mukesh (producer of the popular film (Katha Parayumbol), Ouseppachan, Rafiq Ahamed, Vinod Sukumaran, and M J Radhakrishnan were among those who received the awards. .
