Malayalam superstar Mohanlal will share the screen space for the first time, with Tamil thespian Kamal Haasan for the bilingual titled 'Kandahar'. Directed by Major Ravi, the movie will tell about the conspiracy behind hijacking of Indian Airlines flight IC-814, ten years ago in December 1999. Kamal Haasan is expected to play the role of a military officer in this movie.

Major Ravi who has completed the shooting of his latest 'Kurukshetra' based on Kargil wars, will start shooting for 'Kandahar' by the summer of 2009.

Major Ravi, after coming out of the army started his association with films, working as a consultant in filming action and military operation sequences. Then in 2006, he debuted as an independent director with 'Keerthichakra' featuring Mohanlal, which was an instant hit with the masses. The movie had a Tamil version 'Aran', which also did quite well. His second movie 'Mission 90 Days' featured Mammootty, and was based on former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi's assassination.
