Succumbing to loving requests from fans and people from various quarters, Malayalam superstar Mohanlal finally decided to call off his proposed 'Burning Illusion' magical stunt scheduled for this Sunday at the capital city.
The performance was planned as a curtain raiser to a four-day international magicians meet, beginning on May 1 at the capital city Mohanlal has been training for the stunt under the guidance of ace magician Gopinath Muthukad, the head of the Magic Academy for the last 18 months.
The superstar, who is shooting for his latest film 'Maadambi' at Palakkad, seemed unhappy of his own decision which was propelled due to frequent calls from his overenthusiastic fans who even threatened to commit suicide. A group of magicians, mostly rivals to Muthukad, were also campaigning against the Superstar taking up such a risky, dangerous stunt, which even created life risks to professional magicians.
Gopinath Muthukad was in the opinion that, 'The country lost a magic performance by a great artiste like Mohanlal as he was very much confident of performing the fire escape act without endangering himself. In the rehearsals too, he had done it well and there was no risk involved as it was being propagated.
