The Christmas -New Year season was a pretty good one for the Malayalam industry, which produced a few hits in Box office. The top five films of the week are
1. 'Kadha Parayumbol' - This is undoubtedly the winner among the Christmas releases, which continues to bring in full houses. Sreenivasan as the script writer and lead actor has done a competent work in the success of the film .Directed by debutant M. Mohanan, the film also has Mammootty, in a lengthy cameo which has worked out the best to make one of the best climax of the recent times.
2. 'Romeo' - This recent release of Dileep with plenty of slam stick humor managed to be in the race after a weak start. Written by Rafi Mecartin and directed by Rajasenan, the film some how became a winner, mainly due to the long year end vacations.
3. 'Kangaroo' - Prithviraj was able to sign off 2007, with this film doing well at the box-office. The film in the scripts of Pallssery and directed by Rajbabu, will become a safer bet in returns within a couple of weeks.
4. 'Flash' - Veteran director Sibi Malayil could not make his comeback fruitful by delivering a hit to favorite hero Mohanlal, who is passing through a bad phase in his career. The film which is advertised as a psychological thriller, couldn't match its predecessors in narrative skills.
5. 'Of The People' - Director Jayaraj in another sequel to his 'Four The PeopleÂ, tries for another 'old wine in new bottle' format. The film offers nothing exceptional except being technically tacky.
