Saiju Kurup who made a dream start on a hariharan film ''mayookham'' couldn't make it big in Mollywood for a couple of years as the film bombed at the box office.

But the actor didn't get offended by this failure and thereafter he continued to appear in smaller roles in bigger films, to keep his presence going in Molly wood. Months before, one film with him as the hero, titled 'Sketch' was released which had a better opening than the many other films by the smaller stars.

Saiju had some good roles in recent films like ‘Chocolate’, ‘Hello’ and ‘Indrajith’ ,which had made him a recognizable star among the masses. He is also in the lead in new films like ‘Anthiponvettam’ and ‘Jubilee’ that are to be released in the coming months.

But the real big news for him is that he is now being casted as the main villain in the new big budget film by Lal Jose titled 'Mulla'. He will be playing the antagonist opposite Dileep in this film. Saiju looks upon this as a chance of his life to enter the big circuit.
