Deepavali releases in Kollywood

With just a couple of weeks left for Deepavali, a total of eight films are confirmed for release on the festive day.
They include Vijay starrer 'Azhagiya Tamil Magan', Suriya's 'Vel', Madhavan's 'Evano Oruvan', 'Polladhavan' starring Dhanush, Sathyaraj  Radhika in 'Kannamoochi Yaenada', Jeevan's 'Machaakkaran', all new starrers 'Palaniappa Kallori' and 'Agra'.
'Azhagiya Tamil Magan' Vijay's 'Azhagiya Tamil Magan' features the actor in dual role with Shriya and Namitha playing the heroines. Music is by A R Rahman. Directed by Bharathan, the movie is produced by Appachan. |
'Vel' 'Vel' stars Suriya and Asin in lead roles. The movie directed by Hari and produced by Mohan Natarajan features Suriya in double role. Yuvanshankar Raja has scored the music. |
'Evano Oruvan' Madhavan's maiden production venture 'Evano Oruvan', a remake of Marathi film 'Dombivili Fast', was initially slated for a release on December. However, with Pyramid Saimira obtaining the distribution rights, 'Evano Oruvan' will reportedly have an early release and see the light of the day on Deepavali day. Sangeetha plays the heroine and G V Prakash Kumar scores the music. |
'Polladhavan' 'Polladhavan' stars Dhanush and Dhivya in the lead roles. Directed by Vettrimaran, the movie is about a youth, who takes a few challenges in his life to fulfill his father's dreams. The movie has music by G V Prakash and the remix of yesteryear popular song "Engeyum Eppodhum" is topping the audio charts now. |
'Kannamoochi Yaenada' Director V Priya's 'Kannamoochi Yaenada' starring Sathyaraj, Radhika, Prithviraj and Sandhya will be released for this Deepavali. The movie has musical score by Yuvanshankar Raja. An emotional entertainer, the movie features yesteryear heroine Sri Priya in a cameo. |
'Machaakkaran' 'Machaakkaran' starring Jeevan and Kamna Jethmalani is directed by Thamizh Vannan. The movie has musical score by Yuvanshankar Raja. The director promises an engrossing entertainer and the film has songs shot in Switzerland. |
A couple of small and medium-budget movies including 'Pazhaniappa Kallori' and 'Agra' are also slated for release this festive occasion.
