For the last couple of years none of the production firms in Malayalam did confident ventures all through the year. As the films other than super star starers found it hard to bring back the invested money, little did any company attempt to be at the top slot of regular producers.

Only Lal Media and Aashirwad Films were the two banners that tried to create hits at regular intervals. But now a new banner, a new production company has jumped into the scene making every others run for the money.

Marikkar Films, who ventured into film production with the Mammootty starrer Big B had a solid start with the film turning out to be a hit, last Vishu .Thereafter they were there to distribute Lal's Hello which is a roaring success among the masses.

Now the company headed by Shahul Hameed Marikkar and Anto Joseph is planning to release their next with Mammootty for Ramzan, the Joshy directed film Nasrani.

Thereafter the banner has got two more Mammootty projects for this year Raudram by Renji Panikkar and the Anwar Rasheed film that will be released for this Christmas.

It seems that finally a production house is emerging which will bring back Malayalam cinema to the ages of Strong studio production houses, who were there with their products competing in every seasons.
