After Nerariyan CBI, Mukesh plays a CBI officer for a movie titled SMS. Sarjulan is the director. Bala and Navya Nair are playing the lead roles.

The film is about a college campus and the romance that blooms there. The film's story is by the producer O V Prasanna himself.

Mukesh is playing the role of a CBI officer Robert Mathews in the film. Ilayaraja scores music for SMS.
