Till last year Asin Thottunkal, the South Indian star actress could walk on the MG Road, Marine Drive or have a bite at the Abad coffee shop and see a movie at Kavitha theatre, as a few recognized her as the movie actress.

As her debutant film Narendran Makan Jayakaanthan Vaka in Malayalam that came nine years ago, as very few identified her as the daughter of Kerala. But things have changed drastically after Ghajini and Pokkiri became a blockbuster in Kerala.

Wherever she went in her home state, people were chasing for autographs and wanted to be photographed with her on their mobiles.

But the present news is little more interesting as she is to start playing heroine to Aamir khan for the remake of Ghajini, directed by A R Murugadass by the next week end.

Grapevine predicts that Asin is all set to capture Bollywood as she is also being considered by Boney Kapoor to star opposite Salman Khan for his remake of Pokkiri, her big Tamil hit with Vijay early this year.

Besides these two mega projects, she is the front runner for hot-shot director Rakesh Mehra's ( Rang De Basanti fame) ambitious project Dilli-6.

As Asin is trying to pursue her Hindi career with more vigor, she is moving into a plush apartment on the 20th floor in Andheri West, this month. She will complete the present films that she is on in Tamil including Dasavatharam and will be focusing more on Bollywood, thereafter.

Thus she is becoming the first actress after Sridevi, to get welcomed to Bollywood in as such a flashy openings.

Sridevi too, who made a flying start to her career in Tamil in the early eighties, set on to act in Hindi movies and to establish herself as a numero uno actress, winning several awards and greater acclaims and thus becoming the super heroine in Hindi.
