After being in fifty films as college girl and house wife, Kavya's characters is starting to be in a little more serious profession. In the new flick Inspetor Garud opposite Dileep, Kavya is acting as the sub collector. The character titled Sethu Lekshmy is in constant fight with the inspector Madhavan played by Dileep in the film.

In the earlier films Kavya's character shaped up to become doctor and nurse as in Mizhi Randilum and Kochi Raajavu. But this is the first time she is appearing in an executive role. The film is being shot in and around Ernakulam as in the script of Sibi. K. Thomas and Udhaya Krishna, will be the first release of Kavya, next year.

Meanwhile the recent two releases of Kavya, Chakkaramuthu and Vaasthavam has brought good applause to the actress, even though both the films are showing trends of becoming bad runners.
