Mohanlal's Onam offering Mahasamudram will grace the theatres only by the last day of this month. The film which was originally scheduled as an August 18 release has to complete its final DTS mixing, which will take a few days more. The film by the new director Dr. S. Janardhanan promises many highlights including a spirited climax amidst a football match and many scenes shot extensively in the sea.

As the other Mohanlal film Keerthi Chakra in theatres is making a roller coaster ride in the box office, the producer of Mahasamudram didn't like to spoil the party by making another release in a gap of 15 days. Mohanlal is also said to have much confidence about the successes of the film in which he is playing a fisherman character for the first time in his career. The film produced by Revathy Kalamandhir will be released in around 48 centers on August 31.
