Following the unexpected failure of Prajapathi, Mammootty seems to have changed his plans for the next season. He is suddenly giving more importance to regain his family viewership, by giving more importance to tailor made films to suit family audiences.

As a first initiative he has reversed his dates schedules and has started his film with Kamal that he has set aside for some time. This heavy dose family drama, scripted by the director himself, will have Padmapriya in the female lead. The film will be his Ramzan release after Bhargavacharitham Moonnam Ghattam, which is slated for Onam. Soon after Mammootty is expected to do a film with Shyamaprasad, aiming for approval of his serious audiences.

Mammootty, once a name associated with good family based films, switched over to crass commercials following his big hit 'Raajamanikyam'. These films which had done well at the box-office, also reverted his stronghold family audiences who denied to receive his crap roles without substance.

At the same time, Mohanlal enjoyed high support among families with continuous four hits featuring no action sequences or heavy dialogues, but only soft family drama. This is also a reason for Mammootty to change his course of action.
