P T Kunju Mohammed, who had commenced shooting for his Paradeshi, has finally opened up about the movie.

The filmmaker, who has rendered movies like Garshom and Magrib before says, it is a must watch movie for ardent film-lovers of classical Malayalam films. Mohanlal plays an old man in the movie.

‘A different and challenging role for Mohanlal and he is best suited for the role,’ he said.

It is all about an Indian national who languishes in neighboring Pakistan with no valid documents. The story was conceived after discussions with several men affected by the problem and who underwent sentence in foreign countries, he adds.

Kavya Madhavan essays the role of a journalist. However all efforts are being taken to present the movie in a commercial format, he adds.

Ramesh Narayanan composes music for songs penned by Rafik Ahmed. K G Jayan handles camera for the film.

We are planning to shoot a portion of the movie at Thar deserts in Rajasthan, he adds.
