Though not officially vocalized, there has always been the buzz that ace scenarist/director/actor Sreenivasan has often lifted story ideas from others. Charges of plagiarism has often been leveled against him. The tendency to charge his son Vineeth Sreenivasan with plagiarism too is quite rampant.

Vineeth himself has come out with a request to aspiring writers to protect their content. He requested writers not to send their screenplay, story ideas or synopsis to him via facebook, watssapp, email or any other means without his confirmation. He wrote that he got inspired from travel, the people he meets, book he reads and personal experiences and adding that he would never harm an aspiring writer by using their content. He says that he knows the amount of hardwork involved in writing a script and exhorts everyone to protect their content.
