It was director Johny Antony who first made use of the dancing abilities of Mammootty as a Box Office material. His movie 'Thuruppughulan' featured Mammootty in two dance sequences, which was the main attraction of the hit movie. Later Johny Antony tried to repeat the same in 'Pattanathil Bhootham' and 'Thappana', which but failed to woo the audience.

The latest we hear is that Mammootty is getting ready to play the lead in the new movie titled 'Dance Dance'. Don't expect this to be another dance movie just like the similar titled Hindi movie by Midhun Chakravorty. This 'Dance Dance' is a comedy flick scripted by Rajesh Nair and will feature Mammootty as a security chief in a dance bar in Dubai. Planned to be shot entirely in Dubai, the shoot for the movie is expected to start by this September.
