After being the editing head of many notable films of Shyamaprasad, National award winning editor Vinod Sukumaran will soon turn independent director with the movie titled 'Isam'. Also written, edited and directed by Vinod Sukumaran, Satish Kurup handles the cinematography. The female lead and supporting cast of the film will be revealed soon.

An alumnus of Film and Television Institute of India , Vinod has won the National Film Award For Best First Non-Feature Film Of A Director, for his movie, Diary Of A Housewife, last year. He has also won the award for Best Editor in Kerala State Film Awards of 2007, for his work in the movie Ore Kadal. He has studied theatre arts from School Of Drama and has worked with well-known theatre personalities like Kavalam Narayana Paniker and Alakananda Samarth and with Mahesh Bhatt, Subhash Ghai and Sudhir Mishra in Bollywood films.
