Very few actors get the chance to play a character that does not fall into a safe category in their very first film, but debutante Girish Kumar got the chance to essay the role of a bigda hua badmaash in ‘Ramaiya Vastavaiya’, something that came easy to the actor.

While Girish plays a rich-spoilt NRI in the film directed by Prabhudheva, the actor couldn’t believe his luck, as he was allowed to be as naughty, mischievous and batameez in the truest sense since that was what his character required.

Stated director Prabhudheva, "Girish thoroughly enjoyed playing the character and that shows on screen as well...We allowed him to go all out and be as badmaash and batameez as possible since that only worked in the favor of his character. Everything fell into place because he didn't have to try too hard since he is like Ram in real life as well".

Shot in India and overseas, Girish Kumar and Shruti Haasan starrer ‘Ramaiya Vastavaiya’ is scheduled to release 19th July, 2013.
