It has been a happening year for Shwetha Menon in filmdom and in her personal life. Adding to her joy of a new marriage life and plenty of movies are the awards that are coming her way. The talented actor, who had garnered in many of the awards for best performance for her role in 'Salt N Pepper’, is also overjoyed as she has been selected for an award in Telugu in the prestigious Bharathamuni awards. She has been named the best villain for her role of Doresani, the cruel village don in the movie ‘Rajanna’. This is the first time in the history of the awards that a woman is fetching the award for the best villain, that too in her very first film in Telugu. Shwetha says that it was her long held desire to win an award for villain at some point for her acting career.

Shwetha Menon whose recent role in 'Thalsamayam Oru Penkutty' was widely appreciated, has her hands full in Malayalam with projects like George kithu's 'Akasmikam, and Sharath's 'Parudheesa' which are ready for release. She will be also seen in R Gopinath's 'Ithra maathram'and Madhupal', 'Ozhimuri' which will start canning shortly.
