In a rarest of the events, a Malayalam film has cost less for its producer than the initial budgets set apart for the film. The movie to have made such a miracle is 'Nidra' the launch vehicle of Siddharth Bharathan, which claims to be the one film made in a budget, about 20 per cent less than the initially fixed amount.

Also staring the director Sidharth Bharathan, with Jishnu and Rima Kallingal in the lead roles, the movie is a remake of the hit with a same title directed by late Bharathan in the early eighties. The movie which will also feature KPAC Lalitha, Thalaivasal Vijay, Lalu Alex, Sarayu and Lena is written by Sidharth Bharathan and Santhosh Echikkanam. Produced by Lucsam Sadanandan and Debo Mandal under the banner of Lucsam Creations, Nidra is expected to get into theatres by the first week of February.
