There are two big films waiting to release in just a few days time, right in time for Pongal. They are Shankar's 'Nanban' and Lingusamy's 'Vettai.' Both the films have a huge star cast and are expected big time by the film buffs across the state. Now there are rumors going around that 'Nanban' has been lapped up by Sun Pictures.

While there is no official confirmation on these reports, some media gurus have urged the rumor mongers to wait till an official confirmation has been made by the people concerned. There are also some insiders who are doubtful about Sun Pictures bagging the rights for 'Nanban' because of Vijay's presence and their political differences.

There are also a few insiders who feel that only the TV rights might have been bagged by Sun Pictures. Director Shankar with 'Nanban' has stepped out into a new arena of remakes, contrary to penning his own projects. The film which released as '3 idiots' in Hindi had Aamir Khan, R. Madhavan, Sharman Joshi, and Kareena Kapoor and was one of the biggest hits of the year it released.

With Shankar helming the remake version in Tamil and with the stars involved with the movie, there are a lot of expectations banking on 'Nanban.' Now it will be just a matter of a couple of days to know the fate of the movie with the audience.
