Filmmaker Karan Johar in his micro-blogging site recently shared the release date of his forthcoming venture, the remake of Amitabh Bachchan starrer 'Agneepath'.
The remake which stars Hrithik Roshan and Sanjay Dutt in lead will be released on 13th January 2012, according to Karan. Yesterday the producer also released Hrithik's look in the movie.
The new 'Agneepath' will be directed by Karan Malhotra, who earlier had been Johar's assistant.
The movie was supposed to have released much earlier, however Johar felt it would be better to delay it than present an unsatisfied product. He said that as the team was fighting timelines and has hectic schedules, he decided to postpone the film and moreover he didnt want to stress out the director.
"I didn't want to spoil anything for Karan and his crew by asking them to hurry through it. I have seen parts of the film, and what I saw blew my mind. That's the reason why I want to nurture it and give it the dream release it deserves. I believe anything done in haste ends up a waste. Agneepath is very special for us," said KJo to sources.
In the remake Sanjay dons the role of baddie Kancha Cheena, which was played by Danny Denzongapa in the original while Rishi Kappoor will feature in a negative character as well. Priyanka Chopra will be the leading lady and said to have equally powerful role as Hrithik.
When Sanjay's evil-looking avatar for the movie was released some time ago, it generated lots of response from fans and media. Tell us what you think of Hrithik's 'Agneepath' look here......
