The most amazing actors ever produced by the South Indian film industry, Mohanlal, will celebrate his fiftieth birthday today.

The actor who had been into cinema for a long 32 years, had come a long way from his humble start in ‘Thiranottam’ in 1978 and the villainous roles that he had been to in the first couple of years of his career. Having produced some wonderful hits and mass entertainers over three decades, he had also been adorned with three national awards and six state awards for his best performances as an actor. Apart from versatile performances, he had also been successful as a producer, distributor and as a playback singer.

The last few years had been not so exceptional for Lal with only a 'Bhramaram' to boast about. But the genius actor is sure to bounce back in the current year with movies like 'Oru Naal Varum' expected to bring in the golden chemistry of Sreeni-Lal combo, 'Gaatha' with Saji N Karun, 'Shikaar' with M Padmakumar, ‘Casanova’ with Roshan Andrews and of course with films from Priyadarshan and Shaji Kailas who had created some of his biggest Box Office hits.
