The metro city of Kozhikode has created a number of eminent filmmakers in the past. Some of them who are currently known names in Mollywood are coming together for the first time for the movie titled as ‘Penpattanam’.

A movie based on the Kudumbashree projects and its feminist perspective, the movie will have a base story written by Renjith. Another Kozhikode based scriptwriter T A Razzaq translated it into a script to suit the screen while V M Vinu, the Calicut based director calls the shot for this movie.

‘Penpattanam’ which has started its shoot last week at Calicut will feature K P A C Lalitha, Revathy, Vishnu Priya and Shwetha Menon in the lead roles. The male support will be provided by Lal, Nedumudi Venu and Kailas, together with some eminent names of Calicut theatre field who will don other important characters of the movie. Sanjeev Shankar handles the camera while M G Sreekumar is in charge of the music department of ‘Penpattanam’.
