Jayaram has always been a favorite of family audiences in Malayalam. Now the actor has got a chance to consolidate his star power among the Malayali families. In his new film directed by debutante Kiran he is donning the role of a family man again.

The film is titled as ‘Kudumbasree Travels’. The actor is playing the role of an owner of a private bus service and hence the title. The film may have the tone of the Sathyan Anthikkad's classic movie ‘Varavelppu’ which had Mohanlal in a similar role. But the director says his film will be very different from the classic and is made as a hilarious movie telling the plight of Kerala based entrepreneur humorously.

Meanwhile, Jayaram's latest film ‘My Big Father’ by Mahesh Sreenivas is said to be an average runner at the box office.
