This buzz would be a great rejoice for our Indian cinema…..!

It is usually we who would search for inspirations in the West, and now here’s a change in the wind… A Hollywood film, ‘Leap Year’ is said to be inspired by Bollywood’s most favourite ‘Jab We Met’!

As we all know this Shahid-Kareena blockbuster grabbed the rave reviews when remade in Tamil, titled ‘Kanden Kadhalai’. ‘Kanden Kadhalai’, had Bharath and Tamannah in the lead and made enough news. This bubbly love story was produced by Moser Baer and Blue Ocean Entertainment. Sun Pictures, known for its shrewd marketing strategies, acquired the release rights and made it a big hit like it's original.

According to reports, the synopsis of ‘Leap Year’ goes thus: “The film is loosely based on Jab We Met, a 2007 Bollywood film.” The film is directed by Anand Tucker and features Amy Adams, Matthew Goode and Adam Scott in lead. The director was in fact said to have been quite impressed with ‘Jab We Met’ and decide to go ahead with its English version. ‘Leap Year’ will be set in the backdrops of Ireland.

Surprisingly, Jab We Met’s director Imtiaz Ali was not aware of this news. However, he was very glad that his film is serving as an inspiration to others, especially in the West and also stated that he would love to watch ‘Leap Year’.

We hope that this Desi film’s English version too creates a magic.
