When ace directors, stars and producers talk, everybody listens. In an instance, producer-writer-director Puri Jagannadh has rued that of the hundreds of films made in a year, only five films are turning out to be hits (while the rest either flop or fail to recover their investment).

Though Puri expressed his happiness over 'Bumper Offer', his home production, being one of them, it seemed that he was hurt by the low success rate in the industry. (His recent directorial film Ek Niranjan, which starred a mass hero like Prabhas, is said to be a flop).

It is not new to some of the industrywallahas, well-meaning and cinema-loving among them, doing their bit to promote success-consciousness among the cine folks. In fact, the number of such people has dramatically come down in the recent years, as superstars and mega-directors have increasingly become self-centered. Earlier, veterans like D Rama Naidu, Dasari, Krishna and ANR were always for more and more hits and the industry's health was looked after.

In this scenario, someone like Jagannadh, who himself is an active producer and director, making a valid point is commendable.
