Wondering why a large part of director KS Ravikumar’s ‘Aadhavan’ is being shot in Kolkata? The protagonist of the film, played by Suriya, is playing a Bengali in the film.

The film, produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Red Giant, has Suriya pairing up with Nayantara for the first time. Suriya is said to play an anti hero role in the film, and the character is actually a Bengali. So Suriya is said to be learning Bengali for the film, which will feature him speaking a smattering of it.

It’s not just the dialogues in the film, but Suriya’s costumes are also said to be Bengali in a few parts, with his draping the traditional dhoti. Following this, Suriya will take on director Hari’s ‘Singam’, which will also be his 25th film.
