The belief that actresses don’t command a market after their wedding still holds true to Tamil cinema. Simran, once a sizzler on screen, can vouch for that. The actress, who literally, held the industry in her sway, was treated to a dampening response when she reentered the industry following her wedding.

Another actress to try her luck post marriage now is Bhoomika. The Apple Penne girl, who has worked with Vijay, Suriya and the like, has returned after a break to Kollywood with Thankar Bachan’s 'Kalavaadiya Pozhudhugal'. Apart from that, she is also playing Mohanlal’s pair in 'Bhrammaram'.

Despite her relaunch film, 16 being junked, the actress is hopeful of a successful career in Tamil. “I was never fond of highly glamourous roles. I didn’t think I had the attitude to do them as well. So, in terms of roles, there might not be a lot of change in the way I pick them,” says the actress.

In 'Kalavaadiya Pozhudhugal', she plays Prakash Raj’s wife, and in ‘Bharamaram’, she plays Mohanlal’s wife. The actress says she does not see this as a step behind in her career. “I don’t care about playing mature wife roles as long as there is a twist in the character and it is significant to the story,” the actress says.
