In the most fruitful filmy season of the year, Mammootty fans will be more than disappointed to realise that their favourite star will not be having a release.

Mammootty, who has got a number of movies in the near completion stages, will not field any of them for the festival, the most profitable business generating season, for a variety of reasons.

His bilingual ‘Vande Matharam’ was the one expected by the 10th of April, but the film stands postponed as the producer couldn't fetch enough takers to release the movie simultaneously in Tamil and Malayalam on the same date.

Also Mammootty's dual act in ‘Ee Pattanathil Bhootham’ will also take more time to reach the screens, as the movie still needs a lot of special effects work done before going for the final print.

Another movie from the megastar which is already completed and is waiting in the cans is ‘Kutty Sharanku’ by the renowned director Shaji N Karun.

But in this case, the director is more interested to hold a world premiere of the movie at Cannes, than to release it for this season.

Any how, the die hard fans of Mammootty are left to satisfy themselves for this vacation by watching the big movies of the other stars.
